Adam Baldwin is in Everything!

So if i have never mentioned this before i am a huge fan of the tv show Chuck, and i get everyone i possibly can hooked on it too (so check out the link!). Anyways, one of the main character is NSA major general John Casey played by the adorable and hilarious Adam Baldwin. Now I hadn't heard of him before the show, but i'm a huge fan now. But now that i am a huge fan i see him in everything.

I was watching the first season of Bones, another show i am a huge fan of, and there he was. Then I was flipping channels today and i landed on Independence Day. And even though i have seen that movie like 25 times, I left it on and there Adam Baldwin was again. And then i saw him in the Patriot, and then on a rerun of Angel. Adam Baldwin is the new Kathy Bates= He's in Everything!

What i find even funnier is that he always plays the same time of character. There is an episode of Chuck, where this guy calls him "Cop Face" the whole episode and its totally true: on Chuck he's an NSA agent; in Independence Day he's Major General of the Air Force; on Bones he's an FBI Agent; in The Patriot he's a military Captain. Although on Angel, he was some sort of villain. He was also apparently a mercenary on the show Firefly, which i never saw but heard was very good.

So anyone got an Adam Baldwin sighting?

Out With The Old

So i have a tendency to grow attached to objects. I still have my baby blanket; its in a box in my closet. But recently i realized it was time to get a new phone. I've had my little pink Motorola razr for at least 2, probably 3 years. I love this phone. I've had it since i lived in jersey and its a very quintessential me phone. But its grown old and i've had some really weird problems with it recently. It shuts off for no reason. One time i couldn't get it to turn back on, and i had to take out the battery and sim card and put them back in before i could get it to turn on again.

So i decided to get a new phone, even though i love my razr. I shopped around and decided to get the new LG Xenon. I went to the AT&T store and they were going to charge me 200 dollars for it, even though i had to renew my contract. But the super nice customer service guy told me to go across the street to Best Buy because they would beat any price i could find. He was totally right, I got the new phone for 50 bucks. So when the were changing over my numbers and stuff, the lady at Best Buy takes one look at my sim card (which still read cingular) and decided i was getting a new sim card cause mine was ancient. I don't change phones often. My sisters get new phones ever 12-18 months; I get a new phone like every 3 years.

So far I totally love this phone. The touch-screen interface is a little hard to get used to. It doesn't always get the right thing, but it works pretty well. Plus i love the keyboard for messaging although its takes me just as long to use it as my razr did, but i figure i'll get better with practice. Plus this has a music player and a bunch of other nifty gadgets. I'm just waiting on my usb cable to get in from amazon to upload my music to it (even though i'll only use them for ringtones). Plus this morning i downloaded scrabble onto it so i'll have something to do on those ridiculously long car rides i get stuck in with my parents. Plus scrabble has a two player version so i can play with UNC-Sis.

Needless to say on the second day of having it I am in love with my phone.

Listen Up Skinny Bitches!

So listen, I'm not fat by any stretch of the imagination. Although I'm built more like Marylin Monroe than Kate Moss. I have hips and boobs and an ass and i'm very proud of those things. So basically i'm not teeny-tiny, I have never been able to fit into a size 2 pair of pants (maybe when i was 5).
I recently lost about ten pounds. I wasn't really trying to do it. My life became so hectic between classes, work and my life that my diet started to consist of Slimfast and granola bars. Basically because those were items that i could throw in my bag and head to work/class. On top of that i walked to and from work/class (i live right by the college i attend) which equals to walking about 2 miles a day. Plus i own a terrier who has to be walked constantly. So i got alot of exercise and that plus my awful diet equaled losing weight, but i wasn't really trying to do it.
But there are girls that i'm friends with who are size 2-4's who complain about their weight non-stop. And seriously i want to shove a fucking donut in their mouths. These girls are tinier than i have ever been in my entire life and they gripe about being fat constantly. Even before i lost weight, i didn't really complain about my weight. I've come to the point in my life where i'm pretty comfortable in my own skin. I learned along time ago someone will love me wether i'm 20 pounds or 220 pounds. So i'd rather be fat and happy than skinny and miserable. So when i have to listen to these girls gripe every week about their size 4 jeans, I kinda want to smack them. What drives me even more crazy is that when i ended up at a restuarant/bar with these girls they eat/drink more than i do. Listen if you're going to gripe about the 3 pounds you gained for 4 hours, don't go out and order cheese fries. They're also the kind that go to the gym and work out for 2 hours and then go home and eat ice cream. Listen, i love ice cream. I am a Ben & Jerry's fanatic, but i don't sit around complaining about my weight either.
So please if you are one of these women, shut the fuck up! You are obnoxious; it grinds people's nerves to listen to that shit, especially when i could lose 100 pounds and never be as skinny as you (granted if i lost a 100 pounds i'd be dead). Be happy with the body you have because other women would kill for it. Enjoy it because some people are not so lucky. Btw, losing weight kinda sucks too, because i dropped an entire pants size so now none of my clothes fit, and i can't afford to buy new ones. So i'm stuck trying to wear pants that are a full size too big, even a belt can't keep them up.

Confession: I Love Old Movies

So I love old movies. Turner Classic Movies is one of the my favorite channels. I am always perusing my Tivo line-up to find when something is playing. Anything with Ginger Rodgers, Fred Astaire, or Judy Garland, I've probably seen. There is just something about old movies that have a certain type of charm that newer movies just don't. You know besides the fact that there are no song and dance numbers in them.

So this week they were showing musicals and i managed to record Kiss Me Kate, and Bye Bye Birdie. The problem with these movies is that the 1950's-70's language is so far removed from how we speak today its almost funny. I mean you hear the word "pinned" and i'm pretty sure you're first thought isn't "going steady." Do people even go steady anymore? is that term even still used?

Anyways, heres one of my favorite songs from Bye Bye Birdie. Note: the language and the old clothes and the radio switch board.
